According to Rivian, we can confidently explore the hottest and coldest places because the battery can withstand from 130F to -25F. The cloud-based architecture and a network of onboard computers in the vehicles will let us about vehicles through the Rivian app. Over-the-air updates continuously enhance the vehicle, updating everything from driving dynamics to the games on the vehicle touchscreen. It has 360° audio, Vegan leather 7-seater, panoramic roof, 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity. In terms of storage, the vehicle has 11 cu-ft in the front trunk and 5 cu-ft in rear storage.
Technical overview
The existing version of R1s has a range of 480 km and the top speed from the quad-motor setup is around 200 kmph. In the fast charging network, 224 miles of range is possible within just 20 min. With the home charger, we can get a 40 km range and the portable charger offers a 25 km range in one hour.
Additional features
R1s has 10 exterior cameras that help with every day and high-speed driving, while a camera inside monitors for driver alertness. It also has 12 ultrasonic sensors that provide 360° close-range coverage. The 4 corner radars and 1 forward radar assist in lane changes and monitor rear-cross traffic.
With the Driver+ feature engaged, R1s will automatically steer, adjust speed, and change lanes on the driver‘s command. As a precaution, Rivian mentions that the driver must be alert and should not use a hand-held device behind the wheel.
Rivian R1S launch edition is available in 10 colours and costs around 52,00,000 INR which will be delivered around August 2021.
