Emote electric

eMotion Motors is established by Pranav Singanapalli as cofounder in 2011. They are making India’s first motorcycle with manual transmission. They have two electric motorcycles in their line up which are surge 6k and surge 10k. Emote electric is developing a battery pack that can offer a range of up to 400 km and they are planning to launch these EVs in June 2021.

Ultraviolette automotive

Ultraviolette Automotive is founded in 2014 with its headquarters in Bengaluru. This electric motorcycle startup has Narayan Subramanian as its co-founder and they raised around 36 crores through series funding from TVS motors. Their first motorcycle is F77 and it has a detachable battery pack. The motorcycle has a top speed of 147 kmph and it can offer a range of up to 200km. F77 comes with a detachable battery pack and smart features for a modern electric motorcycle.

Orxa energies

Orxa energies is an electric motorcycle startup that was founded in 2015. The company has Prajwal Sabnis and Ranjita Ravi as its Co-founders. The first electric motorcycle from Orxa energies is Mantis which is a street motorcycle by design. It has a top speed of 140 kmph and it can offer a range of up to 200 km. Mantis comes with a detachable battery option and the expected price of the motorcycle is around 3-4 lakh rupees. The motorcycle may be available at end of 2021 or at the beginning of 2022.

Ather Energy

Ather Energy is probably the catalyst of the EV sector in India. It is co-founded by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain in 2013. They received their initial stages of funding from Flipkart founder Sachin Bansal and hero motor corp. The company offers 450 plus, 450 X scooters which cost around 1,40,000 and 1,50,000 INR. Ather now aims to expand its reach in all the cities of India.

Simple Energy

Simple Energy is co-founded by Suhas Rajkumar in 2019 and they were able to raise 5,67,000 USD as funding. Their Mark II electric scooter got a lot of hype after the claims about its 280 km range in Eco mode. Simple Energy plans to make this scooter affordable at pricing around 1.1 and the Mark II may be available in May 2021.
