Ford F-150 electric pickup
Pickup trucks are one of the most loved and most important electric vehicles in the United States. The auto majors of the United States aren’t giving up in the pickup truck competition with the new players like Cybertruck or Rivian R1T. A few days ago, ford teased their electric pickup and revealed it recently. Let’s know more about the Ford F-150 electric pickup.
About F-150
Ford F-150 is one one of the most successful pickup truck in the United States. The IC engine version of the pickup truck has been successful for years and ford also introduced the hybrid version of the F-150 pickup. Just like most of the other auto majors ford is trying to deploy electric competitors. As a part of this ford is coming up with the electric pickup truck known as F-150 lightning.
Technical overview
Ford claims that F-150 Lightning can offer emergency power backup for an average home in case of a power cut with Ford Intelligent Backup Power and other required power transfer equipment. Ford mentions that the extended battery range version of the F-150 lightning can offer 3 days of backup with full charge in the vehicle depending on usage.
Also, the power on board of the 9.6 kW version can offer power through 11 outlets of the electric vehicle. Among these outlets, there are four 120 V outlets in the front trunk, two in the cab, four in the bed along with one 240V outlet.
A lot about this truck is yet to be known but Ford reveals the estimated range for now. The two battery pack options of F-150 can offer a range of up to 368 km and 480 km.
