EV Sales report




According to the data from the Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV), reports said that from the highest EV sales State list, Uttarpradesh topped with the sales of around 6,878 units in 2017-18 and second topped State is Haryana at 6,307 units and Gujarat at 6,010 EVs.

Maharashtra said to have a sales around 4,865 EV units whereas West Bengal counts the fifth State with the sales of 4,706 unis.

If we look at the global reports the sales of EVs have raised from over 2,000 units sold in 2008 to over 10 lakh in 2017. Out of them half of the sales were from China.

Electric scooters, motorcycles dealers shutting down for slow sales

In spite of government putting all its efforts to bring in the eco-friendly mobility in the country. The existing electric two-wheelers dealers are struggling to sell EVs. Around 20% of them exited the business this year. In India, there were around 860 electric two-wheeler dealerships as of April 29, said the Autocar professional.

This figure seems to be less when compared to the numbers last year. The FAME Scheme which should be actually responsible for the FAME Scheme became the main reason behind the dealerships going out of the business. Indian government laid out new rules and regulations in the second phase of the FAME Scheme regarding the range, speed and battery types of an EVs that should be eligible under the FAME II scheme to claim the subsidy.

Mr. Gill, who is also Hero Electric’s Global CEO said, “Not once not twice but thrice in the last 10, maybe 12 years, and in one point of time, we (Hero Electric) were the only ones standing in that whole crowd while everybody had almost left.”

New Unicorn Ola Electric to enter into Latin America market

It has raised recently $250 million investment from SoftBank in a series B valuing the EV business unit of Ola at $1 billion. previously it had funded from Ratan Tata, Tiger Global, and Matrix Partners.

Audi e-Tron electric SUV to launch in India on July 12, 2019

Audi India to launch Audi e-Tron electric SUV will launch at the end of the year in India. The Hyundai Kona electric car to launch on July 9th, 2019. Two Electric cars launching in India in July 2019. The Audi India head, Rahil Ansari said that the first batch to be imported will have an order of 200 electric cars.

The company’s first luxury SUV previewed before its official unveiling on July 12, 2019.
Audi will distribute the dealerships across the major cities including Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and others.

Electric vehicles- No more silent in Europe




According to the new rule, electric vehicles in Europe have to make artificial engine noise. This rule brought into effect from 1st July 2019 for all the new electric cars sold in the European Union. The existing EVs must be retrofitted with the kits to emit a fake a noise of an internal combustion engine.

The reason behind the European government to impose this rule that Research and studies found that electric cars and hybrids were 40% more susceptible to crashes than the cars powered by the ICE engines. The EVs are too silent that people around it are unaware of its presence.

Environment Ministry opts electric cars, Goes green!

The environment ministry has acquired for 5 electric cars on a trial basis to set an example to have a pollution free commutes. 3 out of them are assigned to the ministry officials for their official work. It has also installed charging stations within the premises to charge these cars.
