The British brand MG Motors India announced a partnership with Finland based Fortum to install 50 Kilowatt DC fast EV charging stations in India.

Under the partnership, Fortum will install KW CCS/CHAdeMO DC fast public charging stations for electric vehicles across the showrooms of MG’s in five cities in Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Ahmedabad by September.

One charging station installation will be done at the MG’s state-of-the-art showroom at Gurugram. These smart chargers are used by the EV users by registering with Fortum India via its Mobile phone App.

The company’s MG EZs, electric compact SUV is best designed with the capacity for five. The pure electric car is meant to reduce the pollution levels in the country.

The MG Motor India, president & managing director, Rajeev Chaba said, that “The upcoming launch of MG EZS is aligned with the government’s long-term objective to have more electric vehicles on the road in the next few years,”

“We are delighted to be partnering with one of the globally leading EV charging service providers to set up charging stations at MG dealerships in select cities, to begin with. This is in line with our goal to provide accessible EVs to India customers and create an EV ecosystem in India.”

MG Motors, the largest automaker in China parent company SAIC Motor Corporation Ltd have a great experience to develop a huge market for electric vehicles.

The company with the second launch of the electric vehicle of MG EZs in December 2019 in India.  Costing you around 25 lakhs. 

It is likely to feature Hector’s remote functions as well as telematics services. Features such as iSMART internet-based connectivity that can be operated with an eSIM from Airtel.
