The vehicle has the looks of a trike for the west along with the practicality of an Auto-rickshaw for the east. About Zbee 

Zbee is from a Swedish firm called Clean Motion which is founded in 2010. Their goal is to develop a product for future mobility that is suitable for our daily use. The final outcome of this goal is a vehicle between a car and a scooter.

Zbee is a light electric three-wheeler that is available in two versions. The first one is with a rear seat for passengers and the second with cargo space for logistics. In 2013, two very prestigious awards which are WWF Climate Solver and Zennsström Green Mentorship were awarded to Zbee. 

Technical overview

Zbee can offer a range of around 60-70 km with its 72Ah Lithium battery pack. In this trike, there’s an option for battery swapping along with conventional charging that takes around 4-5 hours. The top speed of the vehicle is restricted to 45kmph for India and this Auto-rickshaw can achieve a top speed beyond this limit. The seating capacity of this vehicle for 3 people including the driver. In the cargo version, there is only a driver seat and the rear space only for storage.

Conclusion

Clean motion is making efforts to reduce the price of this Zbee for India which might be around 3 lakh. They are already successful in operating as a last-mile solution in Delhi. The company plans for global reach by making this technology accessible for interested manufacturers under their license agreement.
