Top electric vehicles manufacturer-Tata Motors

Electric vehicles in India is growing rapidly every day in India. There are many manufacturers that are already in the market and some have lined up their electric models to launch. Due to Covid19 pandemic, many electric vehicles launches have been postponed last year. But slowly as the market is lifting up manufacturers are launching their electric vehicles. Recently Kabira Mobility has launched its first electric motorcycles. Likewise, Mahindra, Tata, Citroen, etc are also looking to launch their EVs in India. Let us now look at top electric vehicles manufacturer Tata Motors in India.

Tata Motors is one of the leading and pioneer electric vehicles manufacturers in India. The company’s portfolio includes Mahindra e20, Tata Tigor, Tata Nexon EV etc and soon it will add its Tata Altroz EV to the list.

Tata Nexon EV

The company launched it’s Nexon EV electric car Tata Nexon EV is the most popular electric car with maximum range and is said to be the best selling electric car in India in 2020. It comes with Tata’s advanced Ziptron Technology. It gives a 312 km range and it comes with a 30.2 kWh Ip67 certified battery pack with an 8-year warranty. It delivers 245 NM of Torque and can accelerate 0-100 kmph in 9.9 sec.

The Nexon EV comes in three variants such as XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Luxury. The XM variant priced at Rupees 13,99,000, Xz+ priced at 14,99,000 and XZ+ Luxury is priced at 15,99,000.

Ultra T.7 Electric Truck

The company has unveiled its first-ever commercial electric truck, Ultra T.7 electric which comes under the world-class vehicle range of Ultra Platform.

Ziptron EV technology

The Ziptron EV technology comprises an efficient permanent magnet AC motor which provides superior performance on demand and it will offer industry-best dust and waterproof battery system, meeting the IP67 standards. The newer technology will make use of regenerative braking to charge the battery while we are driving.

The Tata Motors Chairman N Chandrasekaran said that ”we will have five electric vehicles in the market in the next 12-18 months. The electric vehicles including Tigor, electric Nexon, electric Altroz a new Tigor and one more vehicle.”

Tata Motors has also launched the Tata Pixel in the Auto Expo 2021. The Tata Nano car looks similar to a Tata Nano electric car. Tata Pixel is launched in Europe but it didn’t announce its launched in India yet. It looks like a rabbit with those doors opening upwards like how rabbits have ears upwards. Its white colour and the doors make our imagination stronger.

Sierra electric SUV

The company has also debuted its Sierra electric SUV at the Auto Expo 2020 in India. The Sierra EV concept will use Tata’s Alfa ARC platform which the manufacturer claims to have lightweight, modular and flexible.
 

Tata Hornbill EV

Tata Motors unveiled its all-new HBX (Hornbill) concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. The production model will be launched by the end of this year and its electric version will be launched in the near future. The Hornbill EV will be the most affordable vehicle from Tata Motors’s line up after the Nexon EV and Altroz EV.

In January 2021, the company celebrated its first anniversary of the Tata Nexon EV in India. the company has sold close to 3,000 units of the all-electric SUV in India. It is the most affordable electric SUV currently on sale which has made Tata Motors segment leader.
