Retrofit hybrid vehicle review

Since we received a lot of requests from our subscribers we made a review for a retrofit hybrid vehicle. So we have done our review on a hybrid vehicle which runs on petrol and battery. To answer the viewer’s doubts, our host Krishna Chaitanya met with the person who is the brain of this retrofit. So, let’s proceed with this retrofit hybrid vehicle review.

Introduction

Mr. Govardhana chari from Hyderabad is the person behind these retrofit conversions. He has been working on this retrofitting for the last 10 years. In order to make this possible, he left his job as a professor in an engineering institute. He started his work in a garage where he works on retrofit and conversion of vehicles. He has 2 and a half years of experience in retrofitting kits and he is with our host to share his knowledge of converting the vehicles.

Conversion & clarifications

His recent conversion was a Honda Activa which has a hub motor at the rear wheel along with the existing IC engine and Transmission. They offer various configurations of 48V,60V and 72 V which gives the top speed of 50-60 Kmph in electric mode. The battery pack in this conversion kit is lithium phosphate and it offers 40-100 depending upon configuration. For this Honda Activa, the battery pack is in the storage space of the scooter.

Mr. Govardana chari also clarifies the viewer’s doubts about the retrofitting and conversions. The first response is for the viewer’s query where he mentions that retrofitting is compatible for vehicles with and without gear. For the second query about cost, he clarifies as 1 km range for  1,000 INR. In simple terms, the customer gets 50 km range for 50,000 and 100km range for 1 lakh. For the third question, he clarifies that a hybrid conversion must be by experts due to safety norms and he suggests hybrid because of fuel backup. 

Customer Conclusion

The customer also expresses his satisfaction because of saving fuel expenses. Mr. Govinda chari also converts four-wheelers and he also provides a 1-year warranty for the retro kit and a 2-year warranty for the battery.
