It seems July 9th is the lucky day for electric cars. The MINI Cooper SE, the mini electric car is unveiling on July 9th and also Hyundai Kona electric car is launching in India on July 9th.

To bring down the emissions in the country many automakers are jumping into the manufacturing of electric vehicles. There are many electric cars launching this year but this one is the MINI one.

MINI Cooper SE first showcased ten years ago 

The MINI first showcased the MINI E pilot project ten years ago. The MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 plug-in hybrid sales started in 2017.

Production at British plant in Oxford

This MINI Cooper SE new MINI will have fully battery-electric powertrain. Production of this electric car will be done at the British plant in Oxford from November 2019.

It has 3 doors, the grille is closed-off, bumpers have been redesigned as the air intakes omitted.

‘Go-kart’ feel with the MINI electric

The company promises to ‘go-kart’ feel with the MINI electric. However few technical details have not been disclosed but we can expect that it will have the same motor from BMW i3.

MINI Cooper SE is second fully electric car from BMW Group

It will be the second fully electric car from BMW Group. It will have the 33.8kWh battery and the range of around 320km. An electric motor may produce 181bhp and 270Nm of torque.
