World Environment Day

World Environment Day

This World Environment Day what will you return to

environment?

The World Environment Day is celebrated every year on the 5th of June, It is observed to encourage awareness and action for the protection of our environment. When the earth has given us so much then why can’t we return something back to it? So, this World Environment Day what will you return to the environment?

World Environment Day

But are we really protecting our environment? Dont we became selfish and we dont even bother to think about the earth. In every day’s run and busy schedules do we even get time to think how much we are destroying our nature, our environment and our future and future generations too!

Think about it at least today on this very important day, take a pause for a moment from your busy schedules and look around you and your surroundings. Okay! now if you have looked around and realised that these things can also be changed and maintained. There are many such things that are responsible to pollute the environment. But we can control it, Yes it is in our hands to control the pollution levels in the country.

But creating awareness and taking protection action only one day is really not going to help in any way. It should come from within in every individual who is responsible for creating pollution. Yes, its good creating awareness on this day but if you really take action for 365 days it will definitely help the environment.

You cannot do everything to stop the carbon footprints in the country but you can reduce it to some extent by using eco-friendly vehicles as vehicles are our everyday need and we cannot avoid it. It is our everyday need to commute from one place to another.

The internal combustion engine vehicles are more responsible for the vehicular pollution which is harming the environment apart from other pollutants in the country. You can permanently try to reduce pollution by adopting an electric vehicle (EV). Planting trees to make the air clean is one formula that everyone follows along with that you can also opt for an EV which is emission-free.

As we all know that India ranks at the 3rd position in the world in terms of air pollution. You may not observe how much does your IC vehicle is polluting air, but when you breathe you take inside your body a lot of toxic polluted air.

EVs Reduces Air Pollution-India Ranks 3rd Position In Air Pollution

According to International Council on Clean Transportation

According to the International Council on Clean Transportation, there were nearly 3,85,000 deaths caused by exhaust emissions from diesel vehicles. Apart from vehicular pollution, there are several other activities of man which is causing the air polluted.

A step can be taken to reduce toxic air pollution using EVs. Cleaning of air results in avoiding the deaths in adult and child, various health issues such as damage of lungs, heart, and brain, etc. It is not only good for the environment but also to human lives.

Recently, we have also witnessed a massive change in the quality of air during the lockdown to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic. As the whole country is into lockdown to control the widespread of COVID-19. Everything is been stopped including factories, businesses and roads as the government asked the people to stay at home.

As a result, India has noticed a huge difference in the quality of air as the movements which include road and rail transportation, construction, land drills, etc. were stopped. The lockdown has caused the immeasurable loss to the economy but however into all these chaos our planet earth has healed to some extent. It observed an extreme decrease in air pollution.

According to Research on Energy and Clean Air

According to the Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA), the average concentrations of PM 2.5, which is hazardous to health in high concentrations have decreased from 91 micrograms per cubic meter on March 20 to 26 micrograms per cubic meter on March 27. As per the World Health Organization (WHO) concentration below 25 micrograms per cubic meter is safe.

COVID-19: India is breathing fresh air after 40 years

There was also a drop in the nitrogen oxide levels which is said to contribute smog and acid rain. It has dropped by 45% since march in the most polluted cities Mumbai and Pune. Apart from that, last year in Delhi people has witnessed the highest levels of air pollution in the world. It had become worse than the public health emergency was imposed and due to which all the flights and schools were shut down.

According to the World Meteorological Organization

Lars Peter Riishojgaard, from the infrastructure department of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), stated, “While in the short term, carbon dioxide emissions would go down as cars stay put and aircraft remain on the ground, we expect the impact will be fairly short-lived,”

“The pandemic will be over at some point and the world will start going back to work and with that, the CO2 emissions will pick up again, maybe or maybe not to quite the same level.”

We have seen much differences in the air due to this lockdown but once it is done, it might go to the same level as previously it was. But it can not be lockdown forever, but using an electric vehicle (EV) you not only contribute to climate change but you will also get quiet, smooth and fast driving experience.
