The price of the Ather 450S e-scooter has been slashed by Rs 20,000

There is also a reduction in the price of the 450S Pro Pack

To expand its customer base in the competitive market, Ather Energy, one of the leading electric vehicle manufacturers based in Bangalore, has announced a significant price cut on its entry-level model, the 450S, to further attract more customers.

A price cut of Rs 20,000 has been announced by the EV maker for its 450S model, which now starts at Rs 1.09 lakh in Bengaluru and at Rs 97,500 in Delhi, making it one of the cheapest models on the market. The prices quoted are both ex-showroom prices.

The Ather 450S will remain the sole competitor in the country’s EV market after the new prices are announced as they are the lowest starting point in comparison to the 2024 Bajaj Chetak Urbane which is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh, the TVS iQube which is priced at Rs 1.23 lakh, and the Ola S1 Air which is priced at Rs 1.20 lakh. The prices stated above are ex-showroom prices.

450S with ‘Pro Pack’ has been reduced by Rs 25,000 from its original price to make it more affordable for consumers.

In addition to ride assist, Ather battery protect, AtherStack updates, and Ather Connect, the pro pack includes several other features for an additional Rs 10,000. These include ride assist, Ather battery protection, AtherStack updates, and Ather Connect (free for 3 years).

Here are some key features of the 450S:

  • An IDC range of 115 km is provided by the 2.9 kWh battery
  • A motor with a power of 5.4 kW is used
  • In just 3.9 seconds, the scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h
  • It is possible to reach a top speed of 90 km/h.
  • There are approximately 6 hours and 36 minutes needed to charge the battery from 0% to 80 percent at home.

A massive discount offer was announced by the company in December last year for its Ather 450S and 450X electric scooters, as part of a monthly promotion offering discounts of up to Rs 24,000.

With a starting price of Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom) for its flagship electric scooter, the 450 Apex, the EV manufacturer recently launched its newest range of electric scooters, including the 450 Apex. A token amount of Rs 2,500 had already been set aside for the bookings of the scooter, as the company had already begun accepting them last month. As of March 2024, the electric scooters are scheduled to be delivered to the customers.
