New generation battery made with a combination of Supercapacitors & Li-ion
Designing a sustainable energy storage device is still on-going research for scientists. The bitter part of getting an EV is frequent battery replacement, even though many providers are giving a warranty the cost of replacement is too high. All the major players in the industry are mainly focusing on increasing the life of the battery packs which could probably reduce the cost of replacement.
New generation battery
A group of scientists from Xidas have introduced a hybrid battery pack by using supercapacitors and lithium-ion which is ideal for energy-harvesting IoT applications.
The battery is known to be RHB-1530. It’s a rechargeable High-Pulse battery which is an integrated pulse capacitor and a lithium-ion battery that provides large pulse discharge capability under extreme temperature from -40oC to 85oC with low current requirement and high energy capacity
Key Features:
- High working voltage: 3.6V to 4.0V
- No initial voltage delays Stable working voltage against high pulse currents
- Wide temperature range: -40°C to +85°C
- Designed to work with EHM-UNIV-1 Energy Harvesting Module and VEG Vibration Energy H
- 240mAH
