Mercedes Benz EQS Electric Sedan gives a range of 700 km

The Mercedes Benz has made an announcement about its EQS electric sedan which claims to have a driving range of more than 435 miles which equals to 700 km.

The company’s battery pack will be manufactured in-house and the battery details have not yet revealed. The sources claim that it will have a bigger than 100 kWh like Tesla’s Model S long Range Plus. It will have two electric motors one at each axle and is expected to have maximum power and torque of 469 hp and 760 NM respectively.

The Mercedes-Benz EQC features a front-end with a large grille and a twin slat AMG-esque design. The silhouette is the same as its conventional cars added the futuristic patterns makes it look sleeker, eye catchy and appealing.

The Mercedes Benz India confirmed that its all-electric SUV the Mercedes-Benz EQC will launch in India soon. Earlier it has introduced its electrified brand EQ in India. Due to pandemic, the expected launch is delayed but during the launch of the GLS-Class the MD & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, Martin Schwenk said that the EQC is expected to be launched in the third quarter of the year. So we can expect the EQC launch in early July, but Mercedes-Benz is yet to officially confirm the date of launch.

It is the first fully electric luxury sedan based on an all-electric architecture. The CEO of Daimler hints us at a 2021 launch for the EV in his statement. Recently, the company has launched its all-new GLS-Class with the introduction of the GLS400d and the GLS 450 for a price of Rs 99.9 lakh (ex-showroom).

Earlier, the company’s Mercedes-Benz Cars Head overseas region Matthias Luehrs said “We are introducing the EQC in the (Indian) market. We are quite bullish on this segment. What we see today is a GST advantage in selling fully electric vehicles.”

Martin Schwenk, MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India said that “We are adopting a step by step approach for the launch of our electric products in India. Once we start receiving real feedback from the customers’ post-April then we will be able to define our next step for electric space for the Indian market.”
