Hyundai unveiled its electric double-decker bus which is emission free. The double-decker bus has a seating capacity of 70 passengers.

Hyundai Motors, a South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer introduced the electric bus to tackle with the emission of pollution everywhere caused mainly by vehicular pollution.

Hyundai electric double-decker bus specifications 

The electric bus has two levels of seating which have a capacity to carry 70 passengers at once, 11 on the bottom floor and 59 up top.

To power, this electric bus uses the electric motor for traction and makes 322 horsepower. The battery pack at 384 kWh in size. It offers a range of approximately 186 miles on a full charge.

The electric double-decker was launched at Korea’s Land, Infrastructure and Transport Technology and it took 18 months to develop this bus.

Talking about its features it is 13 meters long (42.6 feet) and just short of 4 meters tall ( 13.1 feet).there’s rear-wheel steering to help drivers navigate city streets. The battery charges in just 72 minutes.

Various advanced safety features for the safety of the passengers

  • VDC-Vehicle Dynamic Control which enables the passengers to identify the driver’s intended direction and maintain if the vehicle is in control.
  • It has a front-facing camera (Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)) which helps to detect an imminent collision and avoid impact or minimize damage by braking autonomously.
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)which helps to prevent the accidental lane departure with the help of the road maps
