Government Is Expecting 25% Electrification Of Vehicles By 2030





As per Union Housing an Urban Affairs Ministry, Government is expecting at least 25% electrification of vehicles by 2030.

The growth of electric vehicles can be seen increasing day by day. Government taking various initiatives for the development of the EVs in every field. The government’s initiatives such as deploying EVs in country’s Finance Department, allotment of EV charging space in residents and commercial buildings.

The amendments to the Model Building Byelaws (MBBL) 2016 have been created by the ministry and Urban Regional Development Plans Formulation and Implementation (URDPFI) Guidelines 2014, providing infrastructure to establish EV charging stations.

The guidelines will guide the state governments and Union Territories (UTs) to take in norms and standards of vehicles as per the bye-laws.

Charging Stations Installation For EVs On Each Side Of Highway On Every 100 Kilometers

For Electric Vehicles having long range and heavy duty must have at least one station installed on each side of the highway, every 100 Kilometers.





The charging points at residential areas also recommended by the government. Every 25 km, public charging station should be installed on both sides of the highways recommends the government.

The guidelines on Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure have been circulated to all the State Governments and UT Administrations with the request to amend their Building Byelaws and Master Plan Regulations,” it stated
