Fisker & Foxconn collaborated on EV project ‘PEAR’
A leading electric vehicles manufacturer Fisker Inc made an announcement that it has collaborated with Apple Inc supplier Foxconn to manufacture more than 250,000 vehicles from late 2023. Both the companies will jointly work on the deal “Project PEAR” (Personal Electric Automotive Revolution) a codenamed. They will cover the markets globally including North America, Europe, China and also India.
The collaboration between the two will develop and sell electric vehicles under the Fisker brand that will be the second upcoming new Fisker vehicle after the Ocean electric SUV through the Fisker Flexee Lease program.
Foxconn earlier had announced that it aims to provide components or services to 10% of the world EVs by 2025 to 2027. The Fisker Chief Executive Henrik Fisker said that Foxconn is more than just a contract manufacturer under this deal and is developing a vehicle with a startup.
The deal to be finalised in the second quarter and will last for 7 years are the expectations of the company. Fisker gave some hints about its upcoming electric vehicle, he said that it will be ‘futuristic’ and ‘something completely different and also ‘affordable.’
I’m super excited about our collaboration with Foxconn! This vehicle is so revolutionary that we HAVE to keep is secret until the launch in end of 2023! It might be too futuristic for some! We will see! #Fisker #love #EVs #ESG #ClimateAction pic.twitter.com/gCA6spf1hm

It will launch in the fourth quarter of 2023 and will be from one of the 4 vehicles company earlier said would introduce by 2025. “We’re not just going to make another electric car,” Henrik Fisker said in an interview. “We want to introduce things that probably will almost feel a little scary to some people.”
