Electric scooters are something very popular and highly demandable these days. Electric vehicles launch in India was delayed, postponed and cancelled due to ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But few of the manufacturers are still continuing with their launch plans. Recently Ampere Vehicles have launched its all-electric scooter, Magnus Pro. A Bengaluru based EV startup Simple Energy is making a high-speed electric scooter, Simple Mark 2. Let us now compare Bgauss & chetak electric scooters.

BGauss, an Indian electric conglomerate, RR Global had recently announced its entry into the electric two-wheeler segment. It has revealed two new electric scooters-B8 and A2 which will be manufactured in Chakan, near Pune. But the sales of these scooters will start in India in August. The electric scooters will be priced in the range of ₹50,000 and ₹1.4 lakh.

The BGauss B8 will be available in three variants including lead-acid, lithium-ion, and LI technology, while the BGauss A2 will be sold in two variants. 

Bajaj Auto is the oldest and the most popular Indian brand famous for its Chetak scooter. It has come back into the two-wheeler segment with its electric chetak. It has entered into the EV segment by launching its electric scooter on January 14th this year.

Features

BGauss B8 has some of the features like navigation assist, ride metrics, remote diagnostics, live tracking, geo-fencing, anti-theft alarm, anti-theft motor locking, LED instrument panel, DRLs, keyless start, a centralised seat lock, USB charging, reverse Assist, side stand sensor. 

Bajaj chetak 

Chetak offers a single-sided tubular suspension at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. A single-sided cast aluminium swingarm, 12-inch wheels with a disc up front and a drum at the rear. The instrumental console is digital and it gets a horseshoe-shaped LED headlight with DRLs, sequential scrolling LED blinkers and a mobile app to assist the rider.

Range 

In terms of range, the Bajaj Chetak is offering 95 km and B8 is providing 70 km. Chetak has two riding modes Eco and Sport, in the eco mode we get 95 km and in sport 85 km. Whereas 78km range with the lead-acid model and a 70km range with the lithium-ion models.

Speed

If we look at both electric scooters speed, in speed also Chetak is more 90 kmph when compared to B8 which offers 50 kmph. 

Motor & Battery

Bajaj Chetak is having a powerful motor with a power capacity of 4kW and B8 is offering a 1.9 kW motor. Chetak has a 3 kWh battery capacity and B8 is having 1.45 kWh. 

Price

The price of the Bajaj Chetak is 1 lakh and the B8 exact price will be announced by the company when it will launch officially in the next month. But the cost of the scooters will range between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1.4 lakh. 

Hence, if you are looking for a high-performance scooter you can opt for Bajaj’s Chetak and if you are looking for a minimum performance electric scooter then you can choose B8 it also has some amazing variants in batteries and price. It is also having some good features.
