We are witnessing back to back electric vehicles launch right from the starting month of 2020. This hints us that EV manufacturers will not sit back and this year we will witness a great revolution in EV Industry. The great EV launches such as MG ZS EV, Bajaj Chetak and now on Saturday the world’s third-largest two-wheelers manufacturer, TVS Motor Company has launched its much-awaited electric scooter TVS iQube with its charging solution. Let us see TVS iQube, Bajaj Electric Chetak & Ather 450 e-scooters comparison. 




TVS iQube electric is available in Bengaluru from January 27, 2020, across 10 dealerships. Well, Bengaluru does already have an electric scooter plying on roads from Ather Energy ‘Ather 450’ which is said to be the best electric scooter till date. Bajaj electric Chetak is also recently launched in India, so let us see whether TVS iQube will compete with Ather 450 and Bajaj Electric Chetak.

Ather has lived it up electric two-wheelers segment pretty much till now, now we have to see if TVS is able to compete with Ather and Bajaj. The three electric scooters are best in quality, no doubt, as they are from the leading manufacturers. But in terms of features, specifications and performance we will compare them. So let us now compare and see these three electric scooters.

 In any electric scooter, we look for the range and then comes the charging time and facility. Will will first discuss the range and charge time.

Range & charge time 

While we talk about range, here Chetak electric is offering more range 95km in eco mode than the two other electric scooters. But if we look at the charge time of Chetak and TVS both take 5 hours to charge fully whereas Ather charges in 5.30 hours but it does also have a fast charging option which charges the scooter in just 1 hour up to 80 per cent. Whereas if see Chetak’s fast charging option it is taking 3.5 hours to charge up to 80 per cent. 




Battery & motor

Coming to their battery packs, TVS battery pack is just 2.2kWh, Chetak’s 3kWh and Ather 2.7kWh. Here Chetak is having a good battery pack. TVS iQube Electric is equipped with a 4.4 kW electric motor,  Chetak 4kW and Ather 450 is having 3.3kW.

Price of these electric scooters we can say is affordable for the offered features and specifications. The TVS iQube comes with a price tag of Rs 1.15 lakh, Bajaj Chetak has priced at Rs 1 lakh for its Urbane version and Rs 1.15 lakh for its Premium version and Ather 450’s price is Rs 1.07 lakh.

Ather 450X 

However, Ather 450’s upgraded model Ather 450X is yet to revealed its specifications and features on 28th January 2020. We have to wait until the official launch and see which electric scooter is better, either it is Bajaj electric chetak, TVS iQube or Ather 450X. 

But for now, in terms of range Chetak is best and in terms of charging Ather 450 is best.
