Both the partners, Mahindra and Ford had signed an MoU in 2017 and finally announced the partnership.

MoU between Mahindra and Ford

The MoU is to sharing of vehicle platforms, engines, connectivity options, equipment, and electric powertrain technology. The first product made by the duos is electric powertrain technology.

Ford will be the new player in EVs market whereas Mahindra has a great experience in producing EVs. Mahindra sold thousands of electric vehicles(eVerit0, eSupro, e2O, etc.) until now.

As Ford is without experience it will make use of Mahindra’s expertise in the field.
