India is witnessing a tremendous growth of electric vehicles in the three-wheeler categories. The e-rickshaws are the first category to adopt electric powered solutions as it was the government target’s to go completely electric by 2030.However, by some reasons it didn’t achieve it. But also electric 3 wheelers are not stopping anywhere. 

Electric 3 wheelers achieving milestone-Mahindra eAlfa & Kinetic Safar Star

Mahindra and Mahindra is doing really amazing in the field of electric mobility. It had launched its eAlfa in 2017 and within the launch the company managed to roll out 15,000th unit. This e-rickshaw is made out of the company’s Haridwar plant.

The e-rickshaw is priced around Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom ) which provides the last mile connectivity option to the people.

eAlpha Mini erickshaw specifications 

eAlpha Mini e-rickshaw is powered by a 120Ah battery which comes with a battery pack of 1kW electric motor. It gives a top speed of 25 kmph with a range of 85km.

Currently the company has a capacity to produce 1,000 e-rickshaws and they might also expand it. We can say Mahindra is the first company to have an electric car, bus and rickshaw on sale in India. The list will also include the motorcycles and trucks as well in the near future. Apart from Mahindra, Tata Motors is also there in all the sectors of mobility.

Kinetic Green Energy has launched erickshaw ‘Safar Star’

Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions Limited have launched the new Safar Star for last mile deliveries priced at Rs.2.20 lakh. This is a mid speed electric three-wheeler and it have the payload capacity of up to 400 kg and is on sale at more than 150 company dealerships across the India.

Specifications of Kinetic Safar Star erickshaw 

Speaking about its specifications, it is powered by a 48V lithium-ion battery pack with 150 Ah power and can run at a top speed of 40 kmph. It provides a range of 130 km on a single charge. The engine mated with a 2 speed gearbox and is having a regenerative braking system and front suspension with hydraulic damper.

The most interesting thing about this e-rickshaw is that is having a swappable battery option. The battery comes with 3 years of warranty and is suited for transportation of goods as it has a strong steel body, CED coated all weatherproof paint and a long life tubular chassis.
