The Energy Efficiency Services (EESL) has made an agreement with BSNL to install 100 e-cars public charging stations in Punjab. EESL signed MoU with BSNL for 10 years.

They MoU signed between both will be for 10 years to build electric vehicle infrastructure in BSNL, Punjab Telecom Circle area and to explore the synergy to promote the use of electric vehicles including the two-wheeler in the state said an official.

EESL will look after the upfront investment on services, maintenance and operation of public charging station infrastructure using experts in the field.The BSNL will be responsible for the required space and power connections for installing the charging stations.

Venkatesh Dwivedi, Director (Projects), EESL said, “Developing a strong supporting EV infrastructure is the key to cultivating consumer confidence in electric vehicles and would significantly enhance consumer convenience as well. We are glad to partner with BSNL for synergistic action on setting up public charging infrastructure and services in Chandigarh.”




EESL has commissioned 300 AC and 170 DC chargers across India and 65 public charging stations, at present operating in Delhi NCR. Earlier EESL has signed MoUs with Noida Authority, Ahmedabad Muncipal Corporation, Chennai Metro Rail Corporation Limited, Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation, Greater Hyderabad Muncipal Corportation and Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration for development of public charging stations in their respective areas.

Recenlty, the EESL made an announcement for its first-ever partnership with a private sector to install public charging stations at Apollo Hospitals.
