The government’s think-tank NITI Aayog announced the transition to complete EVs for three-wheelers by 2023 and two-wheelers by 2025 with an engine less than 150cc. As per the deadline it has asked the roadmap for EVs to the manufacturers.
The budget is proposed on July 5th, the Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV) expected something from Nirmala Sitharaman, current Finance Minister.

A separate budget could be allocated for the ‘Clean Air’ campaign, which can be programmed under the Swachh Bharat mission. This awareness program will help in creating huge awareness of electric mobility and results in less pollution and making people healthy an safe.
Green Cess
SMEV supports the implementation of notional green cess on polluting vehicles and to make use of EVs. This fund can be used for the incentives to the customers so that customers can get electric two-wheelers at the price of the petrol two-wheelers.
Rationalization of Corporate tax and Income tax
Rationalization of taxes can play an important role, to encourage industries and customers to use electric vehicles.
The government could relaxation of taxes for a specific period to electric vehicles users who are contributing their part to save the environment.
