10 million EV Jobs-India draws a plan to create 10 million jobs to support its electric mobility mission.
The specialized workforce will be generated which includes skills such as design and testing, battery manufacturing and management, sales, services, and infrastructure.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is preparing to conduct the program which can serve the demand of the electric mobility industry.
“A specialized curriculum is being developed to cater to workforce demand from the electric mobility industry,” a top official told.
The government has caught all the stakeholder ministries and related-sector skill councils which includes power, automotive, director-general of training.
The plan is to bring all initiatives on one platform to achieve the desired results, the official said.
The government’s National Electric Mobility Mission Plan launched in 2013 aims to set up 7 million electric vehicles on Indian road’ by 2020.

The govt’s target to achieve 30% e-mobility by 2030. The estimation from the Automotive Mission Plan 2026 is to create an additional 65 million jobs in the auto sector.
“We have initiated the process of making EV specific occupational standards in partnership with the Pune-based Automotive Research Association of India,” said Arindam Lahiri, CEO of the Automotive Skills Development Council.
“The draft is ready and the standards could be formalized by June, after which they would be taken up by the National Skill Development Corporation’s standards team for review and approval,” Lahiri said.
A Kolkata based, Central Staff Training and Research Institute is developing curriculum for electric vehicle technicians and the power sector skill council is making the 4 occupational standards for supervisors, technician, and helpers who will be trained especially for EVs.
