Volvo partners Plugsurfing to provide 200,000 charging points in Europe 

Europe to get over 200,000 charging points, it has partnered charging firm Plugsurfing to provide charging infrastructure. The Swedish brand plans to implement access to public charging points in 38 countries on the Plugsurfing platform.

The partnership eliminates the charging issues and provides sufficient charging points. The Plugsurfing account includes every fully electric Volvo Recharge model in Europe. It gives access to numerous local charging networks around Europe.

It allows seamless charging options. Björn Annwall, head of EMEA at Volvo Cars, said, “Your Plugsurfing service will cover all your charging and driving needs: the daily commute, on-location charging and long-distance travel. This freedom of mind makes driving an electric Volvo even more enjoyable and hasslefree.”

The electric vehicles users will be able to charge using with a contactless charge card or smartphone app at any of Plugsurfing’s 200,000+ supported charging points in 38 European countries.
Every month the charging events and payments are processed and it doesn’t have any subscription process to use this service.

Volvo aims 50 per cent of global sales to be attributed to fully electric cars and hybrids by 2025. In this week only  Waymo and the Volvo cars Group have announced their partnership to develop a self-driving electric vehicle designed for the ride-hailing purpose as part of a global partnership.

Volvo is currently evaluating the feasibility for its XC40 Recharge electric SUV in the Indian market. The company wants to slowly phase out the ICE only models with electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. It is planning to launch its XC40 electric SUV in India.
