September 2nd will mark the official veil-off
The BMW Vision Neue Klasse concept car will be unveiled on September 2, marking a milestone in BMW’s future. In a new trailer, you’ll be able to see a little bit of what we can expect from it since it’s an electric platform that will underpin the brand’s next lineup.
There is a short video posted on social media that shows a part of BMW’s front fascia and grille that extends beyond the frame. In a similar way to the iVision Dee concept that debuted earlier this year, a raised flat circle sits between the deep styling lines that run from the hood, across the grille, and above the front bumper.
Inhale innovation, exhale transformation.

Featuring a black grille and unique lighting that mimics breathing, this new Vision Neue Klasse concept is sure to attract attention. In the BMW social media post, BMW says “Inhale innovation, exhale transformation,” which echoes the lights on the grille, which decrease in size as they rise.
Fast forward, BMW plans to launch six new models on the Neue Klasse electric vehicle platform. The automaker will have six new models in its lineup 24 months apart. We’ll see the supporting platform for a sedan first before a compact SUV is loaded with new technologies and features as automakers digitize the driving experience.
The platform will be able to deliver vehicles ranging from 268 to 1,314 hp with battery sizes ranging from 75 to 150 kilowatt-hours. The Neue Klasse will feature the company’s Gen 6 battery technology, which promises to cut production costs by 50% while improving range by 30%.
Production of the Neue Klasse will begin in Hungary in 2025, and then expand to China, Germany, and Mexico in 2026 and 2027. There should be an emphasis on iconic styling cues from the brand, such as the Hofmeister kink on the C-pillar, on the new platform.
The concept will be one of many that the BMW Group will unveil at this year’s IAA Motor Show in Munich, Germany. We’ll see a plug-in hybrid version of the new 5 Series brakes, where MINI showcases the all-electric Cooper and Countryman.
