Triton EV partners Talwar Auto Garages for South India distributor of e-trucks
A US-based Triton Electric Vehicle LLC has signed an MoU with a Hyderabad-based Talwar Auto Garages as the South India distributor for its e-trucks. The company will have electric trucks in the 50 tonnes to 100-tonne range which is expected to be available by April 2022. The company is also planning to roll out some smaller electric trucks. “We have not seen the product yet but we expect to have the product demo by early next year. We have not made any payment as of now and we will do so only after we receive the product,” says Saral Talwar, director, Talwar Auto Garages.
The electric trucks are expected to launch in April 2022 with an average price tag of INR 1.1 crore (USD 150,000). The company has set a goal to sell around 2000 units in fiscal 2022-23. These trucks and cars will be initially assembled in Triton’s temporary assembly unit in Andhra Pradesh. The company is in talks with the government to set up a permanent factory.
The Triton announced its plans to launch its electric sedan Model N4 and SUV Model H in India but has been delayed. It is said to be the super SUV for the next generation with futuristic features. The company had recently started the bookings of Model H. It is equipped with 200 kWh batteries that provide a range of 700 miles on a single charge. It can accelerate 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and can be hyper-charged in just 2 hours.
The company is offering 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first (starting from your delivery date) warranty. It will be available in 7 different colours such as champagne, jet black, metallic blue, metallic grey, metallic grey, metallic silver and metallic white.
