The company is extending the warranty on the batteries from 3 years or 100,000 kilometres to eight years or 1,60,000 kilometres for all the self-charging hybrid electric vehicles. Its self charging electric vehicles Toyota Camry and Vellfire sales with effect from August 1, 2021.
The TKM Associate General Manager (Sales and Strategic Marketing) V Wiseline Sigamani said, “Through the longer battery warranty, which is the most comprehensive coverage in the market today, we continue to bring many smiles and peace of mind to customers buying a hybrid electric vehicle and enhancing the momentum of vehicle electrification in the country.”
Recently, Toyota has debuted its all-new all-electric SUV concept bZ4X for North America at Toyota Motor North America’s headquarters. The company is a major initiative taken a step forward by unveiling the Toyota bZ4X Concept. The company aims for the first global series of battery-electric vehicles to be introduced under the brand “Toyota bZ.”
Toyota plans to expand around 70 electrified models globally by 2025. Its lineup will feature 15 dedicated BEVs including seven carrying the bZ (Beyond Zero) brand moniker. It aims to shift its pickup trucks to electric in the coming years.
These overall electrified products will help Toyota to achieve its goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. The company is planning to begin the sales of its Toyota bZ4X in 2022 and the complete details of the SUV will be shared later by the company.
