Tata Motors announcing a week ago its latest electric vehicle technology revealed the launch of its first electric car with the Ziptron powertrain will be the Tata Nexton. It is said to be launch in fourth quarter of the financial year 2019-20.
Tata Nexon EV launched in India confirmed
Tata Nexon is expected to provide a range of around 300 km on a single charge. It will source power from the advanced lithium-ion cells. The battery pack will be a liquid cooled and will be packed in a solid IP67 case which offers high outer shell to protect critical electric vehicle components.
Shailesh Chandra, President of Electric Mobility Business & Corporate Strategy, Tata Motors says that, “We are proud to announce that Nexon EV will be available for personal buyers in India from Q4 (Jan-Mar) FY19-20. Powered by the cutting-edge Ziptron technology, Nexon EV promises to address the barriers that exist in the EV market today and will deliver a thrilling on-road performance, ensuring zero emission.”
Tata Nexon EV comes with 8 yrs of warranty on battery & motor
The electric car will be equipped with a high voltage system and fast charging capability. The company is providing 8 years of warranty on the battery and motor. Tata Nexon expected to have a price around Rs 15 lakh and Rs 17 lakh.
The new technology in the car shall uses the regenerative braking system to charge the battery while driving.
Ziptron EV Technology
The Ziptron EV technology comprises of an efficient permanent magnet AC motor which provides superior performance on demand and it will offer industry-best dust and waterproof battery system, meeting the IP67 standards. The newer technology will make use of regenerative braking to charge the battery while we are driving.
The Ziptron technology exhibits characteristics like efficient high voltage system, zippy performance, long range, fast charging capability and battery with a warranty of eight years.
