Pure EV to launch its first electric motorcycle-ETRYST 350
An IIT incubated start-up Pure EV is geared to launch its first electric motorcycle ETRYST 350 by August 15. The most interesting thing about this electric motorcycle is that it is completely designed, developed and manufactured in India.
Initially, the company will deploy 50 demo vehicles by end of March 2021 across India for test rides. The Pure EV will be the first launch in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune and later on expands to other cities by the end of 2021.
The electric bike ETRYST 350 has been designed and developed in Hyderabad at PURE EV’s technical and manufacturing centre.
While we look for its technical specifications, ETRYST 350 has 85 kmph of top speed and will provide a range of 120 km. It is equipped with a 3.5 KWH patented battery which is developed by Pure EV. The company is offering a five-year warranty for the in-house designed battery.
Dr Nishanth Dongari, Founder, PURE EV, and Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, IIT-H, said “The launch of this high-performance motorcycle would be a demonstration of PURE EV’s significant learnings in the powertrain design and development at our R&D centre. The core R&D activities of the company are aligned keeping in mind the expectations of the average Indian customer.”
Rohit Vadera, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of PURE EV as saying that with the launch of the electric motorcycle, they want to make a mark in the domestic EV industry and that the model will be launched at a competitive price point when compared to premium motorcycles.
