The company with its brands Haval and ORA brands will make its way in India. It will showcase both of its brands in the upcoming Auto Expo 2020. This car model is said to be the cheapest electric car in the world with a price tag of Rs 6.2 lakh to 8 lakh.

Great Wall Motor (GWM) is China’s largest pickup and SUV manufacturer which owns four brands which include Haval, Wey, Ora and Great Wall Pickup.

The Great Wall Motors company limited headquartered in Baoding, Hebei, China. Interestingly, it is named after the Great Wall of China and formed in 1984. Currently, it is looking for a suitable location to set up a manufacturing plant in India.

This is a very good range when compared with other available cars in India such as Hyundai’s Kona which has a range of 452 km on a single charge but it costs about 28 lakh.

The company sells three EVs under the ORA brand such as R1, R2 and iQ. Ora R1 is equipped with an artificial intelligence feature along with connectivity feature. The owner can wake up the car by saying “Hello, Ora.”

Coming to its performance, it gives a top speed of around 100 kmph. With performance benefits we are also getting the benefits such as the company is providing free servicing for three years or 1.20 lakh km and eight years or 1.50 lakh km




We can expect the price of this car in India will be from 6.23 lakh to 8 lakh. In India, the average electric cars are only costing around Rs 13 lakh which is much higher than the average 5 lakh rupees fuel cars.

The launch of Ora R1 will definitely increase the sales of electric cars segment in India and also providing an option to the customers to buy an electric car for them. When it will launch it will compete with the other electric cars such as Tata Nexon EV, Hyundai Kona, MG ZS etc.
