MG Motor to bring new electric car below Rs 10
Morris Garages (MG) is planning to expand its electric vehicles lineup in the Indian market. A British car manufacturer has already launched its first electric car this year in India, MG ZS EV. MG Motor India, Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer has revealed that the company is considering “cost-effective EV” that will be priced under Rs 10 lakh.
However, the company will first see the market demands and take further actions later on. MG Motor is also planning to set up a battery assembly plant in India with an investment of over Rs 5,000 crore. It has already partnered with the eChrargeBays to install AC and 50kW DC chargers at customers’ homes/workplaces and MG dealerships.
At Present, the company has dealerships with the charging facilities which is available across 5 selected cities Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The MG Motor India is also setting up an AC fast-charging stations on selected cities to provide its customers charge-on-the-go facility under its Roadside Assistance Services.
MG ZS EV is powered by a synchronous motor that gives 141 bhp and produces 353 Nm of peak torque. It is equipped with a 44.5 kWh battery pack which provides a range of 300 km on a single charge. It accelerates 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and it gives a top speed of 140 km/h.
MG ZS EV is said to be an internet electric SUV. It has received a great response from the people as it has received over 2,800 bookings in just 27 days. With the launch of ZS EV, MG Motor will set a remarkable mark in the electric vehicles industry.
