Kia Seltos Electric SUV to first
launch in China
Kia Seltos Electric SUV will first launch in China. The compact electric SUV will first launch in the Chines market followed by other Asian nations. The Korean carmaker has chosen the Chinese market to commence with as there is a high demand for electric vehicles.

The Kia Seltos SUV will be manufactured at the carmaker’s Jiangsu province-based facility and will launch in the second half of this year. But there is no official announcement made by the company.
While we talk about its specifications, the Seltos Electric SUV is likely to come with the 64kWh battery pack and a 204bhp, electric motor. It may give a range of around 400 km on a full charge, its powertrain is similar to Kia Soul and Hyundai Kona.
The range of the Seltos will be less only when compared to the Kia Soul because of its bigger and heavier body built. It is also heard that the carmaker may also use the 56.5kWh battery pack for the China spec Seltos EV.
This powertrain has already been used in the Hyundai LaFesta EV. It offers a range of 490km on a full change on the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) test cycle.
Last year the Carmakers Hyundai Motors and Kia Motors made an announcement to invest $300 million (Rs2,059 crore) as an electric vehicle initiative with India’s cab-hailing company Ola.
The three companies, Hyundai, Kia, and Old will be collaborating to develop India particularly EVs and the required infrastructure.
Hopefully, the Kia Seltos Electric will make in India too soon. As recently the starting of the year we have witnessed some great launches including Tata Nexon EV, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ather 450X, MG ZS EV in just two to three months.
