Hero Electric India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer has announced that it has partnered with Log9Materials an advanced battery technology startup to provide battery technology InstaCharge RapidX battery packs for its entire range of electric scooters. As per the partnership, Hero Electric two-wheelers will be charged fully within 15 minutes with the Log9 Materials batteries. Both the companies will deploy these batteries in the market through the sales and Battery-as-a-Service(BASS) business models for commercial fleet operators.

In October, Hero Electric had announced that it has retained the top position in the electric two-wheeler segment with sales of over 6,500 units last month. The overall rise in demand for electric vehicles fuels the growth for Hero Electric high-speed vehicles, securing its top position in the segment, the company said in a statement.

The company’s city speed scooters Optima and NYX in the high-speed category continue to drive the sales, it added. It targets the 1,000 sales touchpoints mark by the end of the financial year.

To celebrate the same, Hero Electric launched its new campaign-India’s No.1 EV Company. It re-iterates Hero Electric’s 14-year-old legacy of shaping and leading the way a robust electric two-wheeler ecosystem in India. Through this campaign, Hero Electric aims to convey its pioneering efforts in electrifying the two-wheeler space and solidifying its position as a market leader in the segment.

Log9Materials partners Fortum

A Bengaluru based Log9 Materials an advanced battery technology startup has partnered with the Indian subsidiary of Finnish clean energy company Fortum to deploy and provide access to public fast chargers for two-wheeler and three-wheeler electric vehicles (EVs) in the country.

As per the partnership, the consumers charging Log9 powered vehicles at the Fortum EV charging station will be incentivised as a preferential tariff. The tariff scheme is only applied at the charging stations located in Hyderabad city and Vijaywada Highway at present.
