Govt EOI inviting for the deployment of EV charging stations within cities

The Department of Heavy Industry Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Government of India invites the Expression of Interest (EOI), proposal for deployment of EV charging infrastructure within cities.

The proposals for installing charging stations are invited from entities intend to build and operate EV charging infrastructure in cities which have following 

  • Million plus cities as per 2011 census
  • Smart cities as notified by MoHUA
  •  Satellite towns connected to 7 metros (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai,
    Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Ahmedabad)
  • Major Cities of Special Categories State/UTs
  • The capital city of all states/UTs not covered in the above categories

EOI EV charging stations within cities

A total of 1000 EV charging stations (slow & fast) must be deployed through this EOI. These charging stations are expected to charge up 6000 to 8000 at a time with 1000 charging stations.

These Categories of EV charging stations will support under this EOI

Category A-Public places

Charging Stations established at public places for commercial purpose to charge electric vehicles and are available to any individual without any restrictions for charging their vehicles.

Examples




EV Charging station established in at Municipal Parking Lots, Petrol Stations, Streets, Malls, and Market Complexes, Airports, Railway/Metro Stations, bus stops, etc.

Category B-Premises of State or Central Government

EV Charging Stations established within the premises of a state or central Government Office Complexes, Government Hospitals/Clinics/Dispensaries, Government Educational Institutions or any other Public Office for non-commercial use

Examples

In Udyog Bhawan, Shram Shakti Bhawan, PSU Office Complex, etc., also any Private individual can charge without any restrictions. 

Category C

Charging Stations established within the semi-restricted premises for the commercial or non-commercial purpose for charging of EVs. Any private individual can charge with these EV Charging Stations without any restrictions. 

Examples

Established for Taxi Aggregators for charging of Taxies, Co-operative Housing Societies, etc. 

last date for the submission

The last date for the submission of this proposal in response to EOI by entity/entities to DHI is 15th September 2019.
