India is witnessing electric vehicles growth rapidly, as there are many startups coming up with their new innovations to provide sustainable eco-friendly mobility in the country. Similar to that, an Ahmedabad based Startup Greenvolt Mobility has a powerful city electric bicycle known as ‘Mantis E-Bike’ it is also called as ‘No Challan’ electric bike. As it is an electric bicycle, it can be ridden without a driving license or a helmet.

If you commute less than 30 km everyday than this e-bike is for you. It is sleek single-seater which can make you escape from heavy Indian traffic. Not only that, you dont need to hide from the traffic police now as you will not have to pay a single challan. As Mantis doesn’t require any driving license, PUC, Registrations or a helmet, but helmet must be wear for your own safety. Simply buy it and start your ride.

Startup’s innovation-Mantis E-Bike 

The feature of this e-bike is that it is designed to sustain harsh Indian weather conditions. Its all components are waterproof. You can ride it in rains or give it a wash. It has a quick charging option. Its battery can be removed and it weighs only 3kg. To charge the battery a standard 5A plug is required and it takes 2.5 hours. It is as simple as you charge your mobile phone. It has no pedals as it is having an accelerator option. This e-bike can climb overbridges too.

In addition to this, its features like front and rear disc brakes, a mini digital instrument console, LED Lights and a payload capacity of 100 kg.




Talking about the startup’s innovation, the Mantis e-bike is able to reach a top speed of 25kmph and is powered by a 250-watt motor, the motor and controller is completely produced in-house. The motor is backed by a 48v 14.5 Ah swappable lithium-ion battery which gives a range of 50 km on a full charge. The company claims that it takes around 2.5 hours for the bicycle to charge.

The company is offering 2 years warranty on battery and a lifetime warranty on motor, controller and frame. If you wish to buy this super e-bike then its on-road price is Rs.34,999. You can pre-register it by paying Rs.999 which can be refunded if in case you changed your mind. Once you pre-order it then wait till February 2020 to get your Mantis.
