EVI signed MoU with BSNL to set up EV charging/swap stations

A New Delhi based electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure startup EVI Technologies made an announcement that it has signed an MoU for ten years with the telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to install battery swapping and EV charging stations in five thousand locations of BSNL which will cover the major cities, state and national highways in India.

As part of the 10-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the companies, the EVIT will install charging infrastructure at 5,000 locations of BSNL across the country. BSNL will provide space and power connections for the installation of battery swapping infrastructure. Whereas EVIT will look after the entire operation and maintenance of the battery swapping and EV charging infrastructure.

The partnership will install over 100 battery swapping and public chargers at each location.
The first charging station launch is planned in February 2020 in Maharashtra and Haryana.

EVI Technologies CEO says 

Rupesh Kumar, CEO, EVI Technologies said, “We are thrilled to join hands with BSNL for this initiative to help build a conducive ecosystem in supporting e-mobility in India. EVIT believes that building EV charging infrastructure across India is spearhead step under the government’s National eMobility Programme”

“As our country strives towards being 100% electric vehicle nation, a lot of EV customers are left out simply because of less charging infrastructure. Our to-be-developed infrastructure at BSNL will reduce the range of anxiety among EV consumers and accelerate the adoption of EVs across India,” added Kumar.




EVIT has recently raised funding from Napino Auto & Electronics is the largest automotive electronics component manufacturers in India. The company targets for more than 10 million revenue by December 2020.
