December 15 is the launch date for the Simple Dot One electric scooter

December 15 is the launch date for the Simple Dot One electric scooter

Lighter than One e-scooters, deliveries to begin in January 2024

The Bengaluru-based startup Simple Energy has been in the news recently for its previous scooter sales, but they announced that they will be launching a new electric scooter on December 15. Based on the company’s claims, the Dot One is expected to be priced below Rs 1 lakh, putting it in direct competition with the Ola S1 X.

As a result, it will be essentially the One e-scooter, but without the removable battery pack. The One e-scooter features a battery capacity of 3.7 kWh and a claimed range of 160 kilometers without the battery pack. While the output figures of the Dot One are under wraps, it is expected to use a motor that is slightly less powerful than the One’s motor which boasts 8.5kW and 72Nm of torque.

Despite the lack of information regarding the Simple Dot One, it is unlikely that it will differ too much visually from the One. Despite the fact that the company has not specifically stated the exact amount of storage, it is stated that there will be ‘over 30 liters’ of space.

This device may be the same as the One, as both scooters reportedly share the same platform. Bluetooth connectivity will be offered on the Dot One’s touchscreen TFT dash.

There aren’t many rivals that can compete with the Dot One at its claimed price, which is below Rs 1 lakh, apart from the Ola S1 X, which is also a very competitive price.

According to Simple’s literature, both launch and debut are used in the same context, so it is a bit unclear what Simple is trying to convey. The Dot One is expected to break cover on December 15, so we will inform you about this when we report back on it. There have only been 40 One electric scooters delivered to Indian customers since Simple launched the product in May 2023 across the whole country.
