By March ’28, Tata Power plans to install 25,000 EV charging stations

A total of more than 50,000 chargers have been installed across 350 cities, as well as 4,370 public and semi-public charging points

In a report by Tata Power, an integrated power company with an installed/managed capacity of 14,321 megawatts (MW) in the country, it is projected that 7,000 electric vehicle charging points will be installed across the country by December 2022, and an additional 25,000 will be installed by March 2028.

The company has recently disclosed that they have successfully constructed more than 50,000 home-based charging units, roughly 4,370 public and semi-public charging stations, and 280 bus charging stations across 350 cities. This remarkable accomplishment has been achieved following the initiation of their first electric vehicle charging point in Mumbai in the year 2018.

As part of Tata Power’s journey, it has forged strategic partnerships with many of the world’s leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), such as Tata Motors, JLR, and other leading OEMs, as well as hospitality brands such as Taj, Ama Stays & Trail, Ginger, The Park, BloomRooms, as well as other infrastructure providers such as Lodha, Rustomjee, Vatika Group, Ayodhya Development Authority, Coimbatore Municipal Corporation, Coimbatore Municipal Corporation, as well as the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Army Air Forces, according to the company.
