In a report by Tata Power, an integrated power company with an installed/managed capacity of 14,321 megawatts (MW) in the country, it is projected that 7,000 electric vehicle charging points will be installed across the country by December 2022, and an additional 25,000 will be installed by March 2028.
The company has recently disclosed that they have successfully constructed more than 50,000 home-based charging units, roughly 4,370 public and semi-public charging stations, and 280 bus charging stations across 350 cities. This remarkable accomplishment has been achieved following the initiation of their first electric vehicle charging point in Mumbai in the year 2018.
