BMW is a German multinational company which produces automobiles and motorcycles. The electric motorcycle manufacturers such as a popular Indian motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield has shown interest in making electric motorcycle in the country.
The BMW’s patent drawings show a frameless motorcycle design and the major component is a sealed box containing the batteries and the controller. The head tube of the bike is mounted fore of the battery box, while the motor is mounted just below and aft of the box.
The BMW C Evolution electric scooter, one of the largest, fastest and longest range ( 159km) electric scooter in the market. The e-scooter adopts a similar design with a sealed battery box which serves as the structural member in lieu of a typical frame. Though this e-scooter is five-year-old design with changes and improvements have been made by now.
BMW had an electric motorcycle concept in the past like Vision DC Roadster electric motorcycle concept. In the patent drawings, the motorcycle looks much more like that. It may or not have the similar to that motorcycle.
As BMW is well known for sportbikes, then this electric one will also be a sportbike. It looks similar design with the BMW F800 as it nearly identical geometry, handlebars, suspension linkage and even the wheels.
