Proposal for 800 megawatts (MW) solar power project
The State Minister said that it has also received a proposal for 800 megawatts (MW) solar power project with an estimated Rs 3,000 crore from a private investor. The project will be executed by the power purchase agreement (PPA) said the West Bengal’s Power Minister Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay.
The private investor is looking to get the PPA for the project before it starts it further. Without the support of the PPA, the bankers will not show interest to finance the project.
The Minister said that they have 500 acres of land of their possession and have not asked for any assistance to obtain more land.
There is no scope to link the solar project with the proposed 1000 MW Turga pumped storage hydel program in Purulia.
