Automobili Lamborghini has announced its plan of electrification and has set apart an investment of more than 1.5 billion Euros over the next 4 years. The company aims to launch its first-ever fully electric supercar by the second half of this decade.
The Automobili Lamborghini President and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann said “It’s a clear commitment, not just to the second phase of growth for Lamborghini, but to a sustainable future of the company.”

The European Union is in works to impose harsh CO2 regulations and EU7 will target in the coming years. The company feels that hybridisation and electrification are much suitable for the brand as it already makes super sports cars. It will focus on both reducing the emissions and increase its performance more than before.
Winkelmann added, “Lamborghini’s electrification plan is a newly-plotted course, necessary in the context of a radically changing world, where we want to make our contribution by continuing to reduce environmental impact through concrete projects. Our response is a plan with a 360-degree approach, encompassing our products and our Sant’Agata Bolognese location, taking us towards a more sustainable future while always remaining faithful to our DNA.”
To achieve its hybridisation and electrification and better performance goals the Lamborghini says the development of new technologies and the application of lightweight carbon fibre materials will be crucial. It will compensate for the additional weight in the form of battery packs and it has set some internal target to this. It will reduce CO2 emissions reductions to 50% by 2025.
