Ather Energy has finally launched its electric scooter in India after teasing it for the past few weeks. The interesting part of the Ather launch is it has replaced the 450 with new features such as 4G connectivity, new ownership model and it is now available in eight new cities. Ather Energy is offering its electric scooters in two variants-Plus and Pro. Ather 450X plus is priced at Rs 1.49 lakh and Ather 450X Pro is priced at Rs 1.59 lakh. It is also available in the subscription model.

For the introductory price, a customer will have to pay a monthly subscription fee of Rs 1,699 for 450X Plus pack and Rs 1,999 for 450X Pro pack. If you dont want to go for the monthly subscription plan, you can directly purchase the new Ather 450X electric scooter upfront too.
For people in Delhi, they will have to pay Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom) upfront for Ather 450X Plus and Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom) upfront for Ather 450X Pro as the prices in Delhi depends on the State EV policy.

Ather 450X features

Ather comes with a 16 million colour depth. There is a Snapdragon 212 Quadcore processor with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage. It comes with a 4G SIM card and supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

It uses the Android Open Source to offer map navigation, on-board diagnostics and other features like over-the-air updates, auto Indicator off and guide-me-home lights. Ather 450X will support connected accessories like smart helmets and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Ather 450X specifications 

It is equipped with a 6kW PMSM motor which produces 26 Nm of instant torque. It has four riding modes such as Eco, Ride, Sport and Warp.

In a warp mode, it can go 0-40 kmph in just 3.3 seconds and gives a top speed of 80 kmph. It has an IP67-rated 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery which can be charged with a regular charger, 5 amp. It can be charged from 0-80 per cent in 3 hours 35 minutes and 0-100 per cent in 5 hours 45 minutes. This electric scooter also supports fast charging option.

With a fast charger, it charges in 1.5 km/minute. Its Indian drive cycle range is 116 km and the real-life range is 85 km in the city conditions.
