At Rs 61.25 lakh, the Volvo C40 Recharge Electric SUV is launched in India

This is the second electric SUV sold by the Swedish automaker in India


Volvo India has launched its second all-electric SUV for the Indian market, the C40 Recharge, at an introductory price of Rs 61.25 lakh (in the ex-showroom). Pre-orders for the C40 Recharge will open online from September 5 at 5 pm, with the brand specifying that deliveries will begin in the second half of this month. With this electric SUV, Indian automakers are going to be able to redefine luxury and sustainability in the upcoming years.

It has the same 78 kWh battery as the XC40 Recharge, but due to its aerodynamic design, it has an improved WLTP range of up to 530 km. For the Indian market, Volvo offers the C40 Recharge as a twin-engine with an AWD system that produces 403 hp and 660 Nm of torque. The SUV’s claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 4.7 seconds and is limited to a top speed of 180 km/h. C40 Recharge can be quickly charged up to 150kW, allowing it to reach 10-80% charge in 37 minutes.

In terms of features offered, it’s again the same as the XC40 Recharge and has pixelated LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch driver display with a 9.0-inch Android-based infotainment head, and a Harman Kardon sound system. , wired Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, and vegan leather upholstery. For added safety, it combines a Level 3 ADAS function with a single-pedal autopilot that can also assess traffic conditions.

Volvo C40 Recharge does not have a direct competitor in the market, but its closest competitor is the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which has been priced at Rs 45.95 lakh (in the ex-showroom in India) and the Kia EV6, which has been priced at between Rs 60.95 and Rs 65.95 lakh (ex-showroom in India).
