Amaravati’s first electric bus has launched by Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited(MEIL). It is officially recorded as the first electric bus in Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh.MEIL company using this electric bus for their employee’s transportation service. Price of the electric bus is 1.34 Crore.

Tax Exemption to Electric Buses
AP vice transport commissioner said that tax exemptions are given to electric buses for the first 5 years. For non-electric vehicles government charging 400 Rupees per seat for one district, 1100 Rupees per seat for two districts and 3,750 Rupees per seat for one state.
Electric vehicles owners will be benefitted by the government tax exemptions on electric buses.
350 Electric Buses to APSRTC
As a part of governments e-vehicles mobility scheme, Andhra Pradesh government is planning to take lease 350 electric buses and supply to APSRTC. The AP government is planning to run these electric buses in developed cities like Vizag and Tirupati.
