India’s Capital, Delhi to get 131 public charging stations for the existing consumers and those who are planning to buy an EV and worrying how and where to charge their EVs.
The installation of EV charging stations will help the people to charge their EVs in their locality or neighborhoods.
131 EV Public Charging Stations Installation
As per the Delhi government and Ministry of power’s plan, there will be EV charging stations at various places such as
- 33 Charging station at Metro Stations
- 34 at CNG Stations
- 24 at Indian oil petrol pumps
- 15 at Bharat Petroleum fuel stations
- 9 at Hindustan Petroleum Pumps
- 1 each at Parking area of T-3 at IGI Airport and Jamia Millia
Facilities Will Be Operated In 3 Months
These facilities will be operational to the public in three months. The center after concerning the Delhi government and municipal authorities took a decision that the three municipal corporations and Delhi Transco Ltd will be the nodal agencies in their areas.
The decision was taken at a meeting which was headed by power minister R K Singh in
February.
Nodal Agencies Will Operate It For Years
These facilities will be operated by the 4 nodal agencies for a period of 3 years and the charging fee will be applicable to the users of it.
Government is also expecting the private companies to come forward and contribute to the installation of charging stations.
Fellow And Area Convenor Of TERI Says
“One of the reasons why people think twice before buying an electric car is ‘range anxiety’ the apprehension they would have no option to recharge in case the vehicle runs out of battery. The government is trying to address that concern. The skeleton of the charging network will bring confidence as one can be sure of getting a charging station in a few km ranges. More be sure of getting a charging station in a few km ranges. More stations will come up as demand goes up,” said Alekhya Datta, fellow and area convenor of TERI.
EV Public Charging Stations For Noida, Gurgaon, And Ghaziabad
The EV charging stations locations are planned in such places from where it can cater to the needs of the EV users from Noida, Gurgaon, and Ghaziabad.
