Gravton launched ‘Quanta’ electric bike at Rs 99,000 in India

Gravton Motors a Hyderabad based EV startup has launched its first electric bike ‘Quanta.’ The bike is designed to be sturdy with an off-road suspension system and extendable battery bay for better control and comfort. The all-new electric motorcycle has been launched in India for Rs 99,000 (ex-showroom). Let us look into more details about Gravton ‘Quanta’ electric bike.

The Quanta EV comes with India’s first rib cage chassis which keeps the low centre of gravity to take a turn at high speeds and keep the weight for economics. Initially, it will be available only in Hyderabad but the company plans to launch it in other cities in the coming years.

Gravton ‘Quanta’ electric bike specifications 

Talking about the technical terms of this electric bike, it comes with a Rib cage chassis that will have a 3kWh lithium-ion battery. It is powered by a hub-driven BLDC motor that can make claimed 2 KW /4KW peak power and gives a grade ability of 26 degrees. On a single charge, the electric vehicle claimed to give a range of over 100 km. It gives a top speed of 70 kmphh and a max 180 NM of torque and it can accelerate 0-45 kmph in 4.2.

Its lithium-ion battery can be charged quickly at home with the Gravton charger in 0-75% in 2 hours and 0-100% in 3 hours. Its installed capacity is 1.8 kWh-6 kWh.

Features 

It has three riding modes-Eco, city and dirt. It has a load capacity of 300 kgs. It comes with ergonomic wide seating, all LED lighting system for better visibility and less power consumption. It has dual disk brakes for sharp braking and a digital dashboard that shows speed, range, battery percentage and odometer. It offers a The startup has also developed a smartphone app for enhanced user experience and convenience.

Price 

The bike price is set to increase to around Rs 1.1-1.2 lakh soon and Quanta electric bike is expected to drop back to around Rs 99,000 once it gets approval for the FAME II subsidy. At current, the price of the electric bike is Rs 99,000 (ex-showroom).
