Amazon partners Mahindra Electric deploys 100 Treo Zor EV

Amazon India announced the deployment of nearly 100 Mahindra Treo Zor three-wheelers in seven cities in India. For this Amazon India and Mahindra Electric has made a partnership which helps India to develop the electric vehicles industry and it also saves our environment.

Amazon India had previously announced that its fleet delivery vehicles will be including more than 10,000 electric vehicles by 2025 in India.

This move is a part of the Amazon’s broader goal, the Mahindra Treo Zor vehicles have been deployed in 7 seven cities till now including Bengaluru, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Indore and Lucknow.

Amazon had announced the commitment of 100,000 electric vehicles in the delivery fleet by 2030 in the Climate Pledge signed by it.

Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that “The partnership between Amazon India and Mahindra Electric is a welcome step, which reaffirms India’s significant progress in the e-mobility industry and highlights the role of automakers and e-commerce companies to achieve our environmental sustainability goals,”

“We are confident that the government’s efforts to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles in the country and steps were taken towards setting up of infrastructure backed by policy measures will help more companies adopt e-mobility,” he added.

“The expansion of our Electric Vehicle fleet to 10,000 vehicles by 2025 is an integral milestone in our journey to become a sustainability leader in the industry. We continue to work with several OEMs to build a fleet of ‘Made in India’ electric vehicles,” said Akhil Saxena, VP, Customer Fulfilment Operations, APAC, MENA & LATAM, Amazon said.

Mahesh Babu, MD & CEO, Mahindra Electric Mobility Ltd said that they are proud to partner with Amazon to deploy Mahindra Treo Zor EV for delivery purposes. He said it will help them to redefine India’s logistics and last-mile delivery needs and will also help Mahindra and Amazon to achieve our sustainability goals.

Mahindra Treo Zor electric three-wheeler

Mahindra Electric has launched an electric 3-wheeler cargo model Treo Zor under its existing line of three-wheeler EVs. The price of the new vehicles starts at ₹2.73 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

It is available in 3 variants such as Pickup, Delivery, and Flat Bed. It offers higher savings of more than ₹60,000 every year compared to diesel cargo three-wheelers due to its low maintenance cost. Its running cost is just 40 paise for each km. Treo Zor comes with a standard warranty of 3 years/80,000 km.

It is equipped with an 8kW battery and can produce a torque of 42 Nm. It can carry a maximum payload of 550 kg. The Treo Zor comes with an advanced IP67-rated motor that offers protection from dust and water. It can be charged with a 15AMP socket.
