Hers is a piece of great news for electric vehicles manufacturers, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved road tax relief to manufacturers of electric vehicles and it has also announced about the huge increased fines for traffic violations.

It has passed a proposal under in which the wrong paring for the first will be penalised ₹500 and for the second time ₹1,500. There are various traffic violation fines, the senior minister and government spokesman Sidharth Nath Singh said that hindrances in the government’s work will be penalised for ₹2,000 and getting a licence by hiding facts will be fined ₹10,000.
Centre Urges States to Waive Off-Road Tax For Electric Vehicles
The Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with the other decisions approval has also approved a tax exemption for the manufacture and promotion of electronic vehicles to encourage their production. There will be a 100 per cent exemption in road tax on the first one lakh two-wheeler electric vehicles to be manufactured and 75 per cent exemption for four-wheelers.
Last year, the centre has urged the states to waive off-road tax for electric vehicles. This may encourage the people to buy EVs as Centre urged Union Territories to waive off the road tax. In Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Goa don’t levy road tax when they register for EV. Only 4 to 10 per cent of the road tax is imposed on EVs.
Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh and Union appealed to take steps fastest for the adoption of EVs. The government proposed, providing funds to set up charging infrastructure up to 100% of the cost. The government will spend about Rs 200 crore to develop advanced technology such as power electronics and battery development.
This is a great initiative taken by the government, the road tax exemption will encourage and help the electric vehicles manufacturers to manufacture more and more electric vehicles in the country making India cleaner and greener.
