Okinawa has been one of the successful electric vehicle makers one of the leading players in the Indian auto sector. Okinawa’s new electric motorcycle which is code-named as Oki100 has been in development from the last two years.
Design
The Oki100 is the company’s first 100 per cent localized product. It uses aluminum parts to keep the kerb weight low. In terms of design, the Oki100 resembles the Ducati Monster 797 with a bulbous fuel tank and the single-saddle seat. This masculine look helps give the motorcycle a naked street-fighter look. It will come with features that include LED headlamps and tail lights and an all-digital instrument console.
Specifications
The Oki100 is powered by a 72V 63Ah detachable lithium-ion battery. The company is claiming that the prototype can reach a top speed of 100kmph and has a range of 150km on a single charge. It comprises of central belt driven motor that produces 3.3PS of power.
It takes two hours for full charge and fast charging will be supported by this motorcycle. The motorcycle also comes with smartphone connectivity and OTA updates. Disc brakes on both ends and ABS at the front wheel are the prominent features incorporated for smooth and safer riding.
We will see the motorcycle at the Auto Expo 2020 and a commercial launch will happen soon thereafter. The Oki100 will be priced below Rs 1 lakh. The motorcycle will be seen rolling off the production lines in a month or two.
